I’m frustrated, so I’m writing instead of blowing up at someone. Right now, I have an issue at work that involves a VIP and the transfer of data between two devices. My issue stems from the myriad of security controls that prohibit that procedure and the lack of concern or effort from teams that are the owners of the tools that are preventing me from doing that.

I’m tired. We have this internal mantra of “one team”, but the reality on the ground is that there are lots of fifedoms that fight for control over everything and are generally unconcerned when their tools are working as intended, even if there is a need for the process to be bypassed. I’m tired because I’ve been dealing with this Internal-Politik for so long that most of my job involves getting people to do what they’re supposed to be doing, for the people that (ostensibly) sign their pay checks.
